ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE

It was during my NyQuil induced haze I began to search my Itunes library for the perfect background soundtrack to ease the pressure to my aching head from this virus or flue I have been battling.  That is when I realized the primary musical project and brain child of guitarist, Ben Chasny's, Six Organs new folk, percussive element band would hit the spot.  Six Organs Of Admittance has all the elements of accompanying any folk enthusiasts music library, not to mention soothing any acid trips hallucinations.  Not to mention all the great contributing artists to his albums who make them all come together.  His intricate guitar licks wrap around the mind of soul of the listener, provoking and enticing you to try and grasp the sounds, because they seem tangible.  His chord structure and strumming are warm and can sooth any volatile soul.  According to Chasny's official site, a new Six Organs of Admittance album entitled Asleep On The Floodplain is slated for release in February 2011.  If you haven't been able to grab a copy of the album, don't worry, he has a plethora of others.

Here is one of my favorites "Eight Cognition / All You've Left"
