Even if the New York Knicks send Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler and Timofey Mozgov to Denver for Anthony, the Nets are still rumored to discuss acquiring either one of the players plus Mozgov for two first-round draft picks. The deal completely lies on the decision of the Nuggets whose squad is headlined by Anthony and Chauncey Billups.
The Nets remain confident that they can acquire Anthony before the deadline, but if he instead is obtained by the Knicks, they see this trade as an alternative way to strengthen their team, the sources said.
The move could also burn the Knicks, who are reluctant to part with so many of their coveted young prospects, even for a player of Anthony's ability. To see a couple of them opening the Nets' new arena in Brooklyn could certainly be bothersome to the Knicks franchise.
Honestly, being born in New York, living only a state away in New Jersey, only eventually to move back to my beloved Brooklyn; I have always had an affinity with the Knicks. However, one could never deny there band wagon tendencies towards the Bulls memorable years with the legend Michael Jordan.
Although the prospect of the Knicks loosing two or more starters sounds less than savory, you have to think about the broader picture. Anthony is with out a doubt one of the best if not the best offensive player in the league right now; not mentioning the other obvious candidates. This would be a great look for the Knicks and offer Amar'e Stoudemire a lot of relief from an all-star offensive authority. We get Carmello, we get RINGS
